I tried using "normally" `smtpmail-send-it', not the async function and
get same error from gmail:

--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
X-Failed-Recipients: notifications@github.com
Subject: Delivery Status Notification (Failure)
Message-ID: <047d7ba979245cb55404d5a39fda@google.com>
Date: Wed, 13 Feb 2013 23:37:16 +0000

So Gnus is still trying to send to "notifications@github.com".
