bug#19406: 25.0.50; `vc-dir' is (even more) broken in Subversion for directories with many files

After fixing bug #19405 by applying the patch given in that bug
report, the `vc-dir' command works under Subversion, but only for
small directories.
For directories with a large number of files, the message “Spawning
child process: exec format error” is displayed and the vc-dir buffer
displays the “[waiting…]” text indefinitely.
