bug#18978: 25.0.50; Emacs 25.0.50.1 (i686-pc-mingw32) of 2014-11-03 gets frozen on Windows 7

Hello,

Sorry for the delay in answering. It seems that this had to do with Avast AV. 
Any program built with MinGW had the same problem. See 
https://sourceforge.net/p/mingw-w64/bugs/519/
