That's on Windows, so the "kill -TSTP" bit won't work.  But attaching
the debugger when Emacs freezes should do in most cases.

And yes, the binary was built without any debug info, and with
optimization switches that actively resist debugging.  So getting a
debuggable binary is necessary.  While at that, perhaps try grabbing a
later pretest, perhaps this problem, whatever it is, was already
fixed.
