Do you have fonts installed that support these codepoints?
Yes. Yamamoto Mitsuharu's "emacs mac port" displays them properly on my machine.
The default fontset arranges for these characters to be displayed bythe Symbola font -- do you have that installed?
I am AFK at the moment, but I think I do not have that font.
