The manual says (under beam-interface)
slope-limit (number):
set slope to zero if slope is running away steeper than this.
Default value: (unset)
But in fact the value is not unset; i.e. heavy slopes /are/ set to zero.
Changing slope-limit to a huge value corrects the bug.
By the way the slopes should not be set to zero, but to slope-limit, I
think.
