Error in midi-output of ly2dvi -P xxx.ly

From: Heikki Johannes Junes
Subject: Error in midi-output of ly2dvi -P xxx.ly

I compiled the file theme.ly using lilypond version 1.5.3:

  ly2dvi -P theme.ly

The bar lines now match! That was good thing. But, also in 1.5.2,
there was a problem with midi-output.

I do not have a direct midi output for my soundcard, that's why I use
TiMidity++. The midi-file 'theme.midi' contains a problem after I run

  timidity theme.midi

I get all the notes, but the first four notes do not begin same time.
The other hand (two voices) begins first and then the other hand (other
two voices). The notes do not match and I heard

R: o o
R: o o
L: o o
L: o o

instead of

R: o o
R: o o
R: o o
R: o o

Nevertheless, after I opened 'theme.midi' with Rosegarden 2.1 beta (1997)

  rosegarden theme.midi

and played it with TiMidity++ the problem disappeared. I saved it to
'theme.processed.midi' and played the processed file again with TiMidity++
and the problem was again gone (-- the instrument was changed).

I tried to find out an another midi-viewer before reporting, but I didn't.
That is why I included the source 'theme.ly', the midi-output 'theme.midi'
of it and the processed 'theme.processed.midi', so that somebody could
investigate the problem I found. I can use rosegarden to play the
midi-output -- it is unsupported that is why I try to get along without.

An another problem is the tempo. I tried to set 40 (or any other)
quarter tones in minute, but always got 60 (1.5.2-jnc2) or 58 (1.5.3).

Yours
