Hi

Unfortunately this is no improvement.

If I try to open an existing .sav file in a "correct" directory I get an error of "no such file or directory" in the output window and a message in the syntaxeditor. So the file is not recognised as a .sav file.
If I try to open a file in a directory with a non-ascii character in the path, psppire aborts without any message.

Have fun

.

Harry,

Can you try the attached patch and see what happens?

Thanks,

John

I think you are right. For your info the build was done with a fresh
installed new toolchain so it is not something which will go away by
     updating.
