gst 1.96: run-tests when srcdir!=builddir

The tests/run-tests script seems to end up with some wrong paths when
srcdir!=builddir.  I think $1 arrives with a $srcdir path already, and
../$GST seems to end up being the top level srcdir, and I think it's
necessary to create the subdirectories for the log and diff output
files.  I got some joy from the tweaks below.  I guess the outputs
should be in CLEANFILES in Makefile.am too (though I suspect it
doesn't work to put directories there).
