I am currently trying to migrate MRTG from an NT server which isn't really
up to the job to an HP-UX 10.20 box, and this requires binutils so that GCC
will run and I can compile the various libraries for MRTG.
I've downloaded both the .depot version and the source (which appears to be
for 11.0), but neither will install properly. I'm installing using
swinstall -s /var/spool/sw/binutils-2.10.1-sd10.20.depot /opt/binutils
and I am getting the message that the "depot is not found".
I also tried the source version. This extracted OK, and the ./configure,
make and make /install seem to go okay untill the installation gets to some
dummy C code at which point it exits with a STOP error.
The filesize is okay so the depot shouldn't be corrupt, and swinstall -s etc
seems to work for all the other depot files i've tried.
What am I doing wrong?
Regards
Tim Haynes
