gnu graph problem

Hi,

        I am trying to use the gnu UNIX graph utility and the writeup says that is I follow the coordinates of a point with a non numeric string that string will label that point. However I am not getting any labeling and if I have more than one set of coordinates and try to label I am only getting the first point with no label.

        Is there a way around this?
