I was told that for 64 bit building with hp's compiler was deprecated.
So binutils changed in this point?

You are right.
People from trolltech told me last week, that the linkage problem is being
worked on in the gcc-3.1-branch. but that branch does not bootstrap on my hpux
(at least with those configurations I tried, only the c-compiler alone comes up
and I am too tired to fiddle around with that mess anymore)

Unfortuantely there seem to be other problems remaining for g++/hpux.

Search address@hidden for Harri Porten's contributions which are of much
higher quality than mine, because he also looks at the resulting assembler code
and takes the time to find small examples which reproduce the pain.

I guess when the QT library compiles fine on hpux-11.0 and passes all tests,
g++ on hpux will at last become a compiler one can try to use in real projects.
