I recall what the user sees barely admits it is a GNU project, no
author info, and no GNU bug address.
Ed is the number one choice for editing thru my modem if I need to.
I use it in an emacs *shell* window over ssh, thus sending a line at a
time instead of a character at a time.
Indeed it seems like I'm making a whole 3rd world laboratory of scripts
for the slow. E.g., http://jidanni.org/comp/apt-offline/ allows you
to finish your golf game while your apt-get updates update.
