Simple gettext-using program fails |

Hi,
The attached, very simple, gettext-using program fails to tra= nslate a
message on my system. Details about my system are included. The = program
compiles without warnings or errors, but it does not translate th= e
message.
I have the following questions:
* Can you provid= e a list of "what could be wrong if gettext doesn't
translate"?
* = Can you find out what is wrong? I simplified the program to an extreme
de= gree, which more or less eliminates the possibility of bugs, but it is
st= ill possible that I don't understand something about gettext. OTOH, I
mad= e succesful gettext applications in SuSE 9.0.
* My system seems to= have a gettext implementation in libc. Is this the
right place for a bug= -report, or should I contact the libc people? Do
libintl and libc use the= same gettext implementation?
regards,
Corné Plooy
