In practice it is a bit unusual to write down the domain name at every
invocation of dgettext; many people prefer to create function/macro
shortcuts, for example:
#define _1(string) dgettext ("domain1", string)
#define _2(string) dgettext ("domain2", string)
Then you can use two xgettext invocations:
xgettext --keyword=_1:2 -d domain1 $files
xgettext --keyword=_2:2 -d domain2 $files
