My suggestion would be, if icon buttons are being added to the window, would
be to have a "play" button and a "quiz" (or some such name) button a'la
Blowfish. The "quiz" button would drop you right into the edit mode.
The other situation I run into is that I frequently want to analyse a
variation of a position that I've found in the middle of a match. It would
be nice in that case to answer questions like "would this be the right play
at a different match score" , or "would this cube be a take in a money
game". Would it be possible to make the "match length" editable?
