I think the problem was caused by the position of the unrolled dice
interfering with the board.  I've committed a patch to CVS now.

You still need some sort of html image directory if you want to view
exported HTML, but it's now trivial to generate it yourself with
"export htmlimages <dir>" or the equivalent menu item.  The old images
in CVS took up 1.5MB in every night's snapshots, it's faster to
generate the images that it is to download that much, and their
appearance could not be configured, so I took them out of the
repository.
