I realize this may sound strange, but after consulting with
a couple of friends, one request/complaint that has come up more than once is
the ability to make the ratings (Expert, World Class, etc.) tougher. They think
GNU is much too generous, and pointed out (correctly) that while Snowie often
agrees with the errors and relative strengths of the players,
it always gives a grade lower. In other words if GNU says World Class, Snowie
will say Expert, etc. Since some players may not like to see themselves downgraded
that way, perhaps an option to toughen the grading system would be possible.
Personally I would like this, since I use both to keep track of my opponents,
and it’s true I have gotten into the habit of removing a grade from
GNU’s assessments.
