I got error messages (and did not check those):
"unknown player `user' "
set automatic game off
set player 1 human
new game
set board 2LYBCDPOewMAAA
set player 1 gnubg
set turn gnubg
play
( and this is the result:
Will not automatically start games.
Moves for BBLmember must now be entered manually.
GNUBg rolls 3, BBLmember rolls 2.
Player 1 is now known as `user'.
Moves for user will now be played by GNU Backgammon.
`user' is now on roll.
