[Bug-gnubg] Pos-files

Hi,

there seems to be a little bug concerning the pos-files, at least the
pos-files of GNUBG and BGBlitz are not entirely compatible.

I had exported some pos-files made by GNUBG (2.7.03), if I import them
into GNUBG again, the appropriate dice appear on the screen, so far so good.

But if I import the same pos-files into BGBlitz 1.5, another first class
bg-programm, then the dice are not available, where are they gone to ?
I can only see the position, but not the corresponding dice.

"This is a little bug in GNU *Sigh of relief :-)" claims the author
of BGBlitz and explains to me:

Out of the documentation of Pos-Files:
moves left = (int) w; moves right = (int) w;
These two variables are used when you use movement #1, and tells how
many moves you have left to play with the left and the right die,
respectively. Initialized to 1 (if you roll a double, left = 4 and
right = 0). If movement #2, only the first one is used to store both
dice.

moves left/right are each 0, this means the dice are there, but because
all moves are already done, it is actual the other's turn, therefore
I set the dice to zero.

JellyFish is able to store up if already are made 1 to 4 moves.
GNU always stores 0 ...

I hope you can understand better than me this techinacal stuff and I
would be happy if i could exchange the pos-files between GNUBG and BGBlitz without problems in the near future.
Could this be done ?
Thanks a lot in advance !

If you have any further questions concerning the pos-files please contact
the author of BGBlitz, Frank Berger at address@hidden

Kindest regards

Hans-Jürgen Schäfer
