No way : the window exceeds the screen size and I'm unable to resize
it [well, them : the window and the sceen :)].

It's like if its minimal (vertical) size was greater than the screen
size. The only way is to hide a panel (e.g. the message one).

When I use the integrated build I also maximise the window. Imho it's the only way to use this version. Just double click on the title bar.

I don't think annotations are used that much : it's a great learning

If you don't want to use it, you can drag down the divider just between the move details and the text annotation (as you noted below). I also usually switch off the message window below.

You can just switch the message window off. One line messages still show without any extra popup in the status bar.
