[Bug-gnubg] Digit output : request

0/  Sorry, no time for a separate mail nor for using savannah : gnubg 
systematically crashes when you want to uncheck 'Die colour same as chequer 
colour' - in Settings/Appearance/Dice(0)
Again, sorry, didn't have time to check whether same bug occurs with Dice(1)


1/  The error rate per move output has already made a big step towards 
readability by showing only 1 decimal place. I understand the current 
formula is as follows :

number of digts - log10( error rate factor ) + 1

Why then is this '+1' needed? It seems to me, as stated a week ago or so, 
that this remaining decimal place should simply disappear, as this 
represents *tenths of millipoints* of equity loss. 100 % useless information 
IMHO, and makes the reading harder than a plain figure.

Since you have no plans to make the error rate factor available (which 
sounds quite reasonable, plus the 1,000 factor is quite 'obvious'), I would 
really appreciate to have this decimal place deleted, if other users' 
comments to this post favor it. Otherwise, please state your arguments in 
favour of keeping it, I can't see any to be honest, but may be I just missed 
them.


2a/  In 'Player records', it looks like the output format was not 
updated/implemented after the discussion we had that led to making # of 
digits available in GUI. My settings are meant to show 3 decimal places, yet 
in 'Player records', it shows 4.

2b/  It seems to me the output format in Player records should be consistent 
with the one displayed in Match stats : at the moment, the error rate factor 
is *not* taken into account, so it gives, say, a 7.2 error rate per move on 
the 'Match stat' sheet, but still 0.0072 on the Player records sheet. 
Definitely hard to keep switching mentally from one system to another.

Any comments appreciated

Two important notes:

(1) the number of digits works a bit special for the error rates as
   gnubg will show the following number of digits:
      number of digts - log10( error rate factor ) + 1
   So with a error rate factor of 1,000 and 3 digits, gnubg will show
   one digit after the decimal point.
