Gnubg's hypothetical FIBS rating methodology should be amended to ignore "forced moves" from the calculation. Many times, I have played terribly, but because I have many forced moves, i.e. dancing on the bar, gnubg tells me I am an "Advanced", or "Expert" player.I may be incorrect, but it seems that gnubg is not currently ignoring forced moves.
No. If I'm not totally wrong, then for all per move ratings gnubg only accounts for unforced moves. Same applies for the FIBS rating. Only the "Equiv. Snowie error rate" is calculated with the entire count of moves (or decisions in case of cube), as that's the way Snowie does it.
