Yes, I've suggested the mnual version of your suggestion to several user: (1) save the SGF file, (2) analyse it, and (3) while analysing it open a new instance of gnubg and browse the saved SGF file.
The problem with this approach is that you can't see the current analysis. I guess people are interested in reviewing a match's analysis as the analysis (of later moves) is on-going.
I've got some experience with multi-threading and sockets on windows so could help out if people find specific problems, I'm too busy until the new year to spend any time working on it though.
