[Bug-gnubg] Problems while compiling

Hi There, 
I am a Linux noob and have probs compiling Gnubg 
 
I tried to follow the generic install hints, but it does not work. 
The Compiler I used KCompile said that glib or something like that was 
necessary....anyway, the requested prog was installed, so i have no clue 
what happens. 
 
when i reached the point where make install is necessary, the compiler said 
that it could not write to the requested directory. 
 
I cant tell you all the exact errors, because i dont have a clue what is 
going on. 
 
I used Gnubg with windows before i switched to linux and loved the easy 
installation, but the site http://www.gnubg.org/gnubg where binaries were 
supposed to be distributed cannot be opened. 
 
where can i get a Linux binary? 
i really start getting fed up with linux anyway and think of swapping back 
to windows again, cos this compiling stuff really annoys me. 
 
I really would appreciate your help
