[Bug-gnubg] GNU Backgammon for MacOS 10.3 "Panther" - build environment

Howdy Olivier,

I was wondering if you might be able to tell me what you have in the way
of a build environment for MAC OSX, which compiler you use, and the
options you use with ./configure .

I use apt-get to bring down most of my ports (gtk, gtk2 etc) - and also
have Fink. My system is OS X 10.3 on a dual proc G5.

As an example I use gcc 3.3 (build 1495), I use Apple X11.
My XCode tools are all up to date (X11 package installed etc).

Some of the bizarre behavior I see is that ./configure will succeed with
no fatal errors but upon building the first thing it complains about is
that the math functions are redefined (acos, atan, asin etc). Wondering
if you see this behavior or not? (I actually commented the redefinitions
out of config.h). It later fails during linking with an enormous number
of undefined references to glut/gl among other things.

I have been able to successfully run your posted 0.14-1 load of gnubg on
my system. I found something of interest. Do you know if hardware
acceleration for 3d is supported on the new G5's? Gnubg complains that
the hardware is not supported for 3d acceleration and performance may be
slow (and tosses up a couple warning boxes).

Thanx for any help in advance.

Mike
