Hi folks,

last week my motherboard died (sniff), and I decided to buy a new
939 with an athlon 64 3000+. I know want to either recompile my
gentoo linux with 64bit, 32bit or install a debian/suse with 64bit
support on it.

From the users and developers point of view: Are there any bigger
advantages in using 64bit (RAM 2x 512 DDR 400). I ask because I know
there are still a few issues (java, vmware ...) with 64bit
architecture. And 32bit OS are still quite fast on this new server.

Ciao

Achim
