It's a great idea if it can be done. It will simplify things for users.
I suppose it depends on the file formats being different enough to
easily identify.
There may be one downside; at present one can define different default
directories for the various import options. This is a good feature
because it allows gnubg to automatically be in the right place for
opening one's FIBS or TMG files, for example. I wouldn't like to lose
this feature, especially as gnubg's file browser is poorer than the
standard windows version.
