I thought it better to remove it (to avoid confusion), it's likely to be
expert users using this latest code anyway.  You can still enter a
import command or use an old version to get around any temporary problems.

This does need rethinking.

I've fixed that here (will check it in later).

Not really - software shouldn't write to these directories, so in future
the files are more likely to be in "my documents" type area.  Maybe
"Program Files" could be translated?
