Hi- I’d like to ask if a Self-Quizzing feature
could be added to gnubg. This feature would increase the speed of improvement
in a user’s game by allowing a user to build a list of positions tailored
to the user’s particular weaknesses as revealed in the user’s own
games. It would also save time by eliminating the need to review all games in a
match just to find the bad decisions that require study. Feature Design Notes ================ Users build Self-Quiz lists and then use these Self-Quiz
lists to train themselves against their own weaknesses as described next. How to build a quiz list in “live”
mode: a) User sets thresholds
for bad cube and checker plays b) User plays
gnubg c) User makes a
bad move or cube decision d) Software
pops up a “Bad move” dialog box showing user equity differences
between choice made and the right move e) User is
given the choice to add the position to a position quiz list. How to build a quiz list in “analysis”
mode: a) User sets thresholds
for bad cube and checker plays b) User points
the software to a directory full of matches or money games and designates a
quiz list name c) Software batch
analyzes all matches and money games in the target directory and adds positions
to the quiz list that meet the criteria How to use quiz list to improve one’s
game: a) User picks a
quiz list b) User chooses:
Cube/Checker/All c) User
chooses: In Order / Random d) Software
calls up positions as directed and user has to make a move or pick a cube play
before being given the answer - Bob |
