I can¹t be helpful to you. Although this isn¹t the only application to
experience the same issue on Snow Leopard. Vmware does too

If you scroll near the bottom and look for 0x0 you will see output that is
similar to yours. Similar growing pains occurred on previous releases of
OS/X. I don¹t have SL yet so its hard for me to say, except that you should
report it to the application/library in question. I noticed You did just
that by posting about it to an X11 forum.
With that being said, I am wondering if you might be willing to skip the
graphics part and try building GnuBG with:
./configure --enable-threads --enable-sse=sse2 -without-gtk
--without-python
If you can get a command line version going, let me know. It would be very
useful to know if we can now use all 8 of your real cores and the
Virtual/Hyperthreaded ones all at once. I am very curious to know if that is
resolved.
I¹ll lay even odds that Gnugb probably doesn¹t compile (even the command
line) without some level of tweaking
