Not true.

I have gnubg Version GNU Backgammon 1.04.000  Oct 28 2014
installed on MBA with OS Mac10.11.1 (El Capitan)
and running with XQuartz 2.7.8 (xorg-server 1.16.4)

No crashes.
No bugs except:
1- When you launch gnubg, sometimes you have te resize the panel where the board is displayed (stay blank or empty otherwise)
2 - When you displayed the "Statistics" window after having run a analysis, if you click on the "graphic" tab anytime, then any click on any of the other tabs (like global, cube, etc..) is resultless. The work-around is to close and reopen this window.

Cheers.

Pierre

I was unaware El Capitan didn't work with the last version of GNUbg (I
haven't installed El Capitan myself so was unaware of this issue).

Are you using the latest Yosemite release on El Capitan? I ask just to
make sure you are running the most recent version of GNUbg on El
Capitan, and just wish to confirm that it is a problem. The latest
Yosemite release is here:

http://gnubg.org/media/macos/gnubg-1_04_000-mac-1010-x86_64.dmg

If there is an issue I'll look at installing El Capitan and produce a
new release.
