There's no real need to change that, since programs usualy (see my previous
mail) check "netbsd*" for NetBSD libc. Then both "netbsd-gnu" and "netbsd"
(which have NetBSD libc) match it.

That makes more sense. IIRC, RMS suggested the "-gnunolibc" suffix to indicate
the system uses a non-GNU libc.

However, I only work on Glibc-based systems, so this is not my problem. If
you want to change anything in the "netbsd-gnu" triplet, discuss it with
their developers at address@hidden
