    What is it what disturbs you with the amount of dependencies? The
    maintenance work?  Don't you trust the code? The size of the
    distribution? The time "configure" takes to complete?

No, all of that is fine.  I just have this inchoate sense that so many
files need to be updated, especially all the autoconf stuff, that there
will be trouble.  Perhaps it boils down to a lack of "user"
documentation.

I guess I don't really have anything sensible to report right now
(unlike Simon).  In the next few days or weeks I hope to start using
many gnulib modules in Texinfo, so I'll see how it goes.  And hopefully
be able to alleviate the lack of documentation, too :).
