I think even oldfind (i.e. version 4.2.x and the alternate binary in 4.3.x) has sufficient defences against that. The advantage that the fts-based find has over the older code is that it can traverse extremely deep directory hierarchies because it isn't recursive. The fts-based find code is also simpler. James.
