Thanks very much for taking the time to proofread all that. My change
was a bit disruptive, and I was worried about running into problems
with it on on less-common platforms. Your updates fixed many of those
problems.

Yes, it's marked that way in the 2.61 manual. It's after the example
in that section (maybe I should move that, if it's not obvious...).
