Hello Paul,
Sorry, our mails crossed. I thought it was a simple oversight.

Packages who don't want stdbool can use "gnulib-tool --avoid=stdbool".
Better than omitting it from only modules/regex, because --avoid=stdbool
also has an effect if the package is using any of the modules
argmatch backupfile base64 c-ctype chdir-long chdir-safer classpath
clean-temp cloexec close-stream csharpcomp csharpexec cycle-check des
dirname exclude execute fatal-signal findprog fnmatch fsusage fts fts-lgpl
fwriteerror getaddrinfo getcwd getdate getloadavg getpass getpass-gnu glob
group-member hard-locale hash human isapipe javacomp javaexec javaversion
list mbchar mbfile mbiter mbuiter mkdir-p mountlist nanosleep openat
oset pipe posixtm quotearg readtokens readtokens0 readutmp same save-cwd
savewd stdbool strftime striconveh striconveha strptime tmpdir unlinkdir
userspec utimecmp wait-process xgetcwd xnanosleep xstrtod xstrtold yesno.
Can you agree to leave the dependency in?
