I've switched to git for one of my projects, and it worked fine, and
I'd support changing to git for gnulib too.

My main problem moving from cvs to git was to replace cvs2cl, but I
created <http://josefsson.org/git2cl/> for that.  I needed a
replacement for 'cvsco' too, but that one was quite easy:
