Yes, the usual procedure for installing GNU packages is "./configure",
"make", "make install".

Thanks for this info. It means gnulib has entirely fixed the problem.

It is written in the package's INSTALL file:
" By default, `make install' will install the package's files in
`/usr/local/bin', `/usr/local/man', etc. ..."
