Thank you for reporting it. Since there is no trace of libit any more on
François Pinard's site - not even under "Vieux projets" - I conclude that
it's dead. I've removed the mention from the gnulib homepage.

libit was in some sense the predecessor of gnulib: It was a compilation of
source files that were used in several GNU projects.
