I realized last night that it would have been slightly better to limit
the changes in the initial c-set to replacing TABs in indentation only.
The procedure I've used for automatically rebasing across such a
transition is guaranteed to work only in that rather restricted case.
That said, it should still work for cases, in spite of the relatively
few non-indentation TAB expansions.
