Oh, I didn't mean to imply they should.  They shouldn't.

No.  It is a museum piece by now.

That would make sense, if gnulib aggressively wants to remove old stuff.
Where it works out, you could just declare respective modules as
obsolete (such as is already done with the 'free' one).
