Ah, sorry, I was mistaken. I don't understand
how Emacs is built on MS-DOS or MS-Windows (nor do I understand
those operating systems; I don't use them), but a quick
scout through the sources shows that there's a file
nt/inc/sys/socket.h that already (I suppose) supports the part
of <sys/socket.h> that Emacs needs. So perhaps a more
accurate statement would be "Emacs does not need sys_socket".
