Yes, this is the attempt to get libguestfs working again on RHEL 5.

It could also be because of 'libtool-kill-dependency_libs.sh' which we
use to workaround some misfeature of libtool:

Anyway, still investigating ...

But as you say, it's a link problem, not a runtime problem, so likely
your kernel doesn't affect this.
