I am using GNUpod as a backend for an automated wireless syncing program that I'm writing for the iPhone/iPT. Everything works really well except that artwork isn't showing up on the iPhone and when I sync mp4/mov videos they show up in the Music list and only audio plays.
I got gnupod 0.99.5 to work with the iPhone by changing all instances of 'iPod_Control' to 'iTunes_Control' then compiling an installing. I am using gnupod on a local "copy" of the iTunes_Control directory which I first grab from the phone with rsync, add songs with gnupod, then rsync the changes back. It works well, even podcasts work but I am stuck on the album art and videos problem. Any help would be great.
Also, I think it would be really nice to have gnupod running directly on the phone so we can integrate over-the-air downloads with iTunesDB. There's a working perl5 port but I haven't been able to compile the extra modules or gnupod since I don't have an iPhone toolchain. If anyone is interested in trying this I think it would be really neat.
Thanks !
ben
