Details:

on an up-to-date linux/gentoo system (ppc) base fails to build with the
following error:

Making all for library libgnustep-base...
 Compiling file GSSocketStream.m ...

gnutls is installed though. I also updated from 2.2 to 2.4 without improving
the situation.
