Can you try installing the MSYS installer again and see if that fixes it?

If not, from the CMD window, try running

C:\GNUstep\msys.bat --norxvt

or also try

C:\GNUstep\msys.bat -console2

So, I just downloaded version 0.25.0 of the Windows MSYS installer.

The install seemed to go fine and launched the README file at the end, which suggested running the shell app.

I thought “Sure, that sounds good – let’s have a look at the shell.”

The window flashes for a moment and then is gone.  I thought “Wow, that’s a problem. Let’s see what it says before folding up and going home.”

So, I ran C:\GNUStep\msys.bat from the command window. When msys.bat folds up, it takes my command window with it, so that’s about the extent of the error messages I can give you.  Attached is a JPG of the system properties dialog (Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, SP3, Dell Latitude D620 Laptop, etc. etc.)

Hope that helps – looking forward to doing some development under GNUstep.

Thanks.

Sincerely,
Erik Johnson
