I think it is a change in the original firefox, as on the original firefox I
have a closing icon on each tab too.
By the way, to close all tabs except one you can right click on the tab you
want to keep and do "Close other tabs"; to close a tab faster without click on
the icons you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-W.
