Yeah, this is really a very interesting question. 

Indeed, in my opinion, such kind of "features" (personal data leaking, tracking,
fingerprinting, geolocalization, "social" connections, "cloud" facilities etc.)
should be completely fixed (say: totally removed)...

I was happy reading Rubén (the new manteiner) saying IceCat development will
be focused on providing better privacy and anonimity!!! 
This is very important nowadays, we need it very much!!!
