reg: "not a COFF File" linker error

Hi,

  I am working on AIX OS version 4.3.3 and i am using gcc compiler version 3.3

My project generates bigger .a and .la files (example of size 1MB).

Recently i started getting linker error "not a COFF File" for one of the .a files.

Problem is inconsistent. Sometimes the build stops with the "not a COFF File" error and

sometimes the build is successfully done without any error.

 

Could you please suggest what needs to be done to resolve this problem.
